Cook County Airport
and Seaplane Base
About The airport and seaplane base
The Cook County Airport and Seaplane Base is a municipal airport located about 8 miles from Grand Marais near Devil Track Lake. The airport primarily serves as privately owned aircraft, there are no scheduled commercial flights available. Down on Devil Track Lake, seaplanes can land at the nearby seaplane base and receive services like gas refills from the airport located just up the road.
Don’t have your own plane? Don’t worry! They offer private scenic flights that you can do during your next trip to Lake Superior’s North Shore. Just imagine chasing waterfalls or enjoying the fall colors from above. To book a private scenic flight, please call or email the airport.
The Arrowhead Eagles is an organization that supports the Cook County airport and aviation community. On the third Saturday in September, the Arrowhead Eagles host a pancake breakfast at the airport. During the breakfast you may have the option to take a scenic flight for a small fee, weather permitting. All proceeds from the pancake breakfast go towards the local aviation community.
